Earth, a peaceful planet, is under threat from the villainous Ballas. The galaxy police sends two agents, Hiro Aoyama and Michiko Akasaka, who transform into the powerful superheroes Gayvan and Mittchi, respectively.
Players can control one or both heroes in a beat-em-up style game, fighting enemies and bosses. The game also features a two-player versus mode where players can battle each other using the main characters or enemy fighters.
Galaxy Deka Gayvan (Galaxy Detective Gayvan) is a hidden gem of a Beat Em Up for the system. While it may seem cute, and you may be limited to one plane of movement more akin to a typical action-platform game, you have the ability of transforming into a powered suit and a wealth of special moves. The moves can be a little tricky to pull off but once you realize they operate generally more like a VS fighting game (e.g. Street Fighter II etc.) you’ll soon be kicking some butt with a little practice. It’s also good to think outside the box as some of these start with pressing up before you roll forward and down for example. A surprisingly deep fighting system, challenging enemy AI, nice graphics and sound are a breath of fresh air for any PCE fan who thought they’ve played everything.
