Must have Shoot Em Up for every system owner. A powerhouse showcase for the system with large sprites, tons of parallax, rocking CD soundtrack, fast game-play, and lengthy intro sequence. Often compared to the Thunder Force series, which is honestly quite a compliment and really doesn’t due the game justice. A brief synopsis of the game: “The player controls the spaceship Hunting Dog, piloted by a space cop named Hawk. Along with his ally Esty and her ship the Wild Cat, Hawk must stop General Don Jingi and his Obellon army from taking a powerful energy source called “Starlight” from the planet of Aries.” (wiki)
A stellar game in every way, it’s easy to see why this was a pack-in title for the US TurboDuo release, and can certainly be called a system seller or “killer-app” for the DUO. I personally prefer the original JP artwork, for example the title logo and game disc artwork are awesome! Also a great option if you already have Bonk 1 & 2, and Bomberman on HuCard or Everdrive as you directly boot into Gate of Thunder and just start playing right away.
