Princess Shizuhime has been kidnapped by a group of ninja and is being held captive in Lord Hiei’s castle. Kaze, a young ninja, is tasked with infiltrating the castle, defeating enemies, and rescuing the princess.
Kaze Kiri is a side-scrolling action/beat-em-up/hack n slash game where players control Kaze as he fights through levels, defeating enemies and bosses. Players can attack with a sword, throw shurikens, and perform various acrobatic moves. You can also disappear momentarily and re-appear to confuse the enemy. After completing the game, players can unlock Suzu, another playable ninja character.
A personal favorite, I think it’s easily one of the best games on the system. Fantastic graphics, sound fx, atmosphere, cool bosses, intense game-play, polished presentation and an awesome anime style intro. Once you get the hang of it, getting into the zone with this one makes you feel like a total bad-ass. If you enjoyed Ninja Spirit, Ninja Gaiden, or the Shinobi series you owe it to yourself to play this hidden gem.
