An alien race, mutated and technologically advanced, launches a galactic war against humanity. To counter this threat, humans develop shape-shifting fighter planes powered by crystal energy. Players control one of these fighter planes, navigating through side-scrolling levels filled with enemies and obstacles. The game’s unique feature is the ability to transform the plane into various forms, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Players must strategically switch between forms to overcome challenges and defeat powerful bosses. Unlike traditional shoot-em-ups, the game uses a health point system instead of lives, requiring players to manage their health and collect power-ups to survive.

This Sci-Fi Space Shoot Em Up with some unique features largely goes under the radar but is well worth your time if you are a fan of the genre. Be ready to be treated with some awesome graphical effects throughout the levels, some of which are not only rare on the platform but for games in general of the era. Add to this an overall unique art design, including your (bio-mechanical) metamorphosizing ship, interesting power-ups, anime style intro, great graphics, Redbook CD audio, huge sprites, and expansive levels. It’s an underrated game that deserves a chance and is quite a technical showcase for the console. Also worth mentioning is the fact that it represents the first major foray into video games by musician/designer Masaya Matsuura (Parappa the Rapper). Matsuura, who also had a pop group called PSY’S, wrote a vocal song and some other music for the game. The game is also note-worthy as an early creation by Flight Plan, the developer that went on to create games like Summon Night, Black/Matrix, Eternal Poison (a.k.a. Poison Pink), etc.. Pretty crazy!

Please Note: To increase or decrease your movement speed, Pause the game and then press Up or Down. At least one speed up is recommended right from the start in my experience.
