Psychic Storm is a vertical shoot-em-up where players defend Neo Hong Kong City from alien invaders. Players can choose from four characters, each with unique weapons and abilities. The game’s unique feature is the transformation mode, allowing players to temporarily transform their ship into a powerful biomechanical form. Players must strategically manage their transformation meter and power-ups to defeat enemies and bosses.
Psychic Storm is a rather different vertical Shoot Em Up featuring multiple characters to choose from, each with their own unique transforming bio-mechanical ship. The transformation is actually pretty wild – every time you transform the action stops and zooms in on your ship while your pilot yells out “Psychic Storm!”. Each ship turns into a different creature with special powers making you nearly unstoppable for short periods of time. You can collect transformation time extensions by blowing up enemies to stay powered up for longer. It’s worth noting that the game seems to forgo any point scoring system. Also, the in between level segments are actually in English! Very cool and fun game w/ great graphics, anime style intro, CD sound, solid game-play and personality to spare.
