The game Linda³, a Japanese-style RPG, is set on the planet Neo Kenya, which is facing annihilation by an asteroid. A deity named Anubis tasks humans with saving the planet’s animals before the impact. He sends a large ship, a magnified Noah’s Ark, and demands that Ken and his childhood sweetheart Linda dedicate themselves to this mission.
Despite being a traditional JRPG with a world map, towns, turn-based combat, and a focus on narrative, Linda³ incorporates unusual gameplay elements. Enemies are visible on screen, and combat is initiated upon contact, using a first-person perspective. Instead of killing hostile animals, players must capture them. These captured animals can then be used in towns for various purposes like enhancing weapons and armor or as food.
Saving animals is central to the game’s plot progression. The game offers three difficulty levels at the start, each determined by the number of animals Ken needs to save. Additionally, certain friendly animals, such as dogs, can join the player’s party and fight alongside Ken and Linda.
