Elevator Action Returns is Taito’s 1995 sequel to its 1983 arcade game, tasking players with selecting one of three agents—Kart, Edie, or Jad—to retrieve computer data hidden behind red doors across six time-limited buildings. The game retains the original’s core mechanic of using elevators to navigate floors. Players gain power-ups, like machine guns or health, by entering blue doors and triggering a randomized spin wheel. Success requires destroying various enemies, from lackeys to zombie soldiers, and utilizing environmental objects like barrels to aid in combat. Additionally, players must destroy scattered cameras to avoid detection, as failing to complete the objective before time expires causes the entire building to explode.
