The third game in the Rayxanber series of Shoot Em Ups by Data West (no relation to Data East). Large detailed sprites and challenging game-play made a little easier this time around thanks to a unique charge-shot that sends heat-seeking missiles flying at your opponent – hold fire, release when gauge is full, press fire again to split missile spread. Also you have a dashing dodge move to quickly avoid shots. While the graphics, gameplay and music are quite good I can’t say quite the same for the sound effects – a bit of an acquired taste. Regardless, you will witness some of the most intricate and detailed sprite work ever seen on any console of the era all while dodging bullets and trying to take down the enemy.
