Spriggan PC Engine CD Reproduction
Seirei Senshi Spriggan is an absolutely kick ass vertical Shoot Em Up from the legendary experts in the genre COMPILE. While most widely known for the now ludicrously overpriced M.U.S.H.A. on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, this is the game that actually excited me the most when I first saw those screenshots in a magazine. This is the same company that brought us Gunhed (Blazing Lazers) after all but now comes a game that takes place not in the endless void of outer space but in a richly detailed and colorful fantasy setting. When I finally did get my hands on it I was not disappointed and it remains one of my all time favorites to this day. Featuring amazing graphics, large sprites that fill the screen with no slow-down, huge challenging bosses, great Redbook CD audio soundtrack, tight responsive game-play, and a unique orb power-up system with seemingly endless combinations. What really makes it even more impressive is that they managed to accomplish all this on a standard CD-ROM and not even Super-CD, astonishing! Truly a must have Shooter for every system owner and great way to show off the power of the console.
